“I have
never seen such a diverse group of colleagues that work so well together.”
What do you do at Rush?
I am a Supervisor in the Physician Referral Services department at Rush.
I have a wide variety of responsibilities, including monitoring staff
schedules, running and updating reports, reviewing data and working on
special projects.
Describe the people you work with.
I love all the people I work with, including my director and my manager.
I have been at Rush for 20 years now, and I have never seen such a diverse
group of colleagues that work so well together. I have seen the respect
they have for Rush, for our customers and for each other. And I've seen
true collaboration at work throughout the organization.
What do you think about the work environment?
It's better than I expected. I like the professionalism and the team attitude.
The respect we have for each other is excellent. It's a fast-paced environment,
but when our department truly exemplifies our core values as we do, it
relieves a lot of the stress. Management brings us into the big picture
and encourages us to be a part of it. They're also flexible and supportive
in helping us to grow in the department.
Tell us about a good day at work.
About a month ago on a Monday, I got to the office and three co-workers
were out. Mondays are our busiest day. At the end of the day, with just
three of us on staff, we had taken 242 calls and scheduled an amazing
amount of new patient appointments. I felt really proud of the team for
working together so well to accomplish such results.
Share something you've heard about patient care at Rush.
Here are just a few quotes from my callers: “Outstanding job!” “You took the extra time to assist me – thanks!” “You went out of your way.” “You made my day.” “You are very professional.” “You have really helped me.” “Awesome!”
