The Department of Pharmacy at Rush is a dynamic group of individuals who prioritize patient care to ensure safe and efficient use of medications. Our practice includes the provision of medications to the inpatient and outpatient areas of the medical center. We also evaluate medication use by collaborating with other health care professionals to ensure that the best and safest medications are used in the appropriate doses, based on each patient’s individual profile.
Rush University Medical Center is an academic environment, and this extends to the Department of Pharmacy. We are a major destination for pharmacy students from the Chicago College of Pharmacy (Midwestern University) and offer post-graduate residency training for first and second year residents. This type of setting provides continued learning and stimulation so that we can be on the cutting edge of pharmaceutical care.
