Physical Therapy
“I feel good at the end of the day knowing I have contributed to a patient’s physical or emotional well-being.”
Why did you accept a job here?
My aunt, who is now retired, was working here at Rush and felt it was a very good employment experience. When I was offered a job here, it gave me the same opportunity to be a part of Rush.
What do you do at Rush?
I evaluate and treat patients with different impairments due to stroke, amputation, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and various surgeries.
Describe the people you work with.
My colleagues make this a very comfortable work environment. They are hardworking individuals who are passionate and devoted to both their patients and their jobs.
Tell us about a good day at work.
When a patient feels happy about the progress he or she has made during their therapy session, it’s a really good day. It could be just a simple thing, such as being able to stand up for the first time after several weeks of being in bed. I feel proud at the end of the day knowing I have contributed to a patient’s physical or emotional well-being and helped someone come as close as they can to where they were before they became ill.
Share something your patients have told you about Rush.
My patients tell me they’re glad they came to Rush – that everyone is caring and has the patient’s best interest at heart.
What does your future look like at Rush?
Busy, busy, followed by – retirement!
